Here is a description of some of the offerings from New World Wellness:
What is Yoga?
Yoga is a five-thousand-year-old system of health and wellness for all aspects of the individual: physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual. The word "yoga" means "yoke" or "union" as it unites the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga represents one of the world's oldest methods of obtaining health and wellness. Yoga is both preventative and therapeutic. Yoga can be a complete fitness program in and of itself, but at New World Wellness we honor and promote a combination of yoga, strength training, and cardio activity. Ask us about our partnerships with local gyms in the Kissimmee and St. Cloud area. Yoga is a practice of health and wellness, and is not a religion. Yoga is sometimes confused with the Hindu religion, but it is not related to Hinduism or any other religion. Some view yoga as a fitness regimen, a hobby, a sport, a recreational activity, or a means of connecting with oneself and the world. Yoga may symbolize different things to different people.
What is Meditation?
Meditation is an ancient practice of cultivating awareness and is a means of being fully present in one's life. There are many ways to practice meditation and many tools one can use while learning to meditate. Research shows strong correlations between meditation and overall wellness. Meditation can be used to induce relaxation, to heal, to provide clarity, to manifest one's desires, as a spiritual practice, and for many other benefits on individual and personal levels.
What is T'ai Chi (Tie-Chee)?
T'ai Chi is an ancient Chinese system of slow meditative physical exercise designed for relaxation, balance, and health. T'ai Chi is also a martial art form and is used to strengthen one's energy or life force (Chi).
What is Qigong (chee-gong)?
Qigong also originates from the East and is another ancient wellness practice that incorporates gentle movement, breathing techniques, and meditative practices to cultivate one's energy or life force resulting in a stronger, healthier, and more balanced state of being.
